Hi, my name is Glen and I'd like to welcome you to my "walking" website
Last Update: Oct '15
I am an avid walker, and most weeks, weather permitting, I will go on at least 1, but often more walks ranging in length from the very short - about 3 miles - to the all day trips of 12 to 18 miles.
Most of these walks are local i.e. in South Hertfordshire, which is where I live but now that I have retired I expect to take some walks further afield.
About my walks gives you a small insight to the way I like to conduct my walks and a brief note about the maps that I supply
Latest walks is a bit like a diary or calendar with a schedule of walks planned for the coming months with approximate dates, a very brief description of the walks I have completed recently and a link to the detailed reports on those completed walks.
Completed walks gives the full details of each completed walk including description, directions, map of the route (courtesy of Google Maps) and photographs.
I plan to walk a couple of long-distance paths in the northern Home Counties of southern England, the Chiltern Way (172 miles inc. extensions), and the Hertfordshire Way (194 miles). These will all be done as a series of day walks. I also plan to do one of long-distance paths a bit further afield, such as The Ridgeway (87 miles) or maybe The Thames Path (184 miles), but this will depend upon weather, health and time. There is also a collection of photographs, most (but not all) of which I've taken on my walks.
If you have any comments or suggestions about this site, you can email me via the Contact me link at the top of this page
You can also read About Me if you're really curious.
Thank you.
